China Odyssey
(3 weeks)

Starting in GuiLin, deemed the  "Most Beautiful Place on Earth" where you have the options to cruise down the Li River to YangShuo, head north to "tango" with the Dong in their dance of the "Bamboo Pole" or just stay in Guilin to learn more about Chinese Culture, be it Painting, Feng Shui, Chi Kung, food etc and at the end of the day sample all the wonderful sights, food and shopping this great city has to offer.
From here we head to KunMing the "City of Eternal Spring" where we will taste the famous "Across-the-Bridge Noodles", visit the 40,000 strong Muslin neighborhood sampling their hand stretch noodles to BBQ whole roast "baby ducks". The options here will be to visit to the Ancient City of DaLi (home to the Bai People) or the World Listed Heritage City of LiJiang - capital to the 1 million plus Naxi minority.
Next, we fly to the "Roof of The World" - Tibet - and spend the next few nights in the "Abode of The Gods" - Lhasa - where you have the options of meditating in Jokhang Temple or any of the "hundred" of others that dot the landscape.
All to soon we'll back in ChengDu with its 2300 year long history and a close encounter with the giant panda.
From Chengdu we take the over night train to Xian, with its armies of terra-cotta warriors. Sitting right on the cross roads between East and West and the start of the famed "Silk Road", it once rivaled Rome and Constantinople as the wealthiest and most sophisticated city in the world.
From "stone"warriors to real life ones at The Shaolin Monastery stopping on the way at LuoYang famous for its Luoyang Water Banquet. A 24 course banquet so named as the main dishes contain soup and served up as "quick as flowing water".
Last stop, BeiJing, options here are too many to list, Great Wall, Forbidden Palace, Summer Palace, Beijing Opera, Tiananmen Square just to name a few.
Or the last stop can be ShangHai if enough people request it.
