Sisters Festival at ShiDong
Today is the Grand Finale of the 3 day long Sisters Festival so an early start is a must. Arriving outside of ShiDong we are confronted with a barricade of "wine wheeling" group of "sisters", the so called "Welcoming Road Block Wine Ceremony" - hereby all visitors entering must be "toasted" by one or more of the sisters with ox horn cups of rice wine and after given packets of colored sticky rice.

Successfully pass this blockade, we continue on to the center of town only to be stopped by a large wedding reception following the newly wed down to the river for the traditional "water carrying" - a sign of respect to the elders - later we are invited to the wedding feast and given the seats of honor besides the fathers.

After lunch we move with the crowds towards the river to watch the "Dragon Boat" races See panorama and by 2:30 all the sisters have gathered together by the banks of the Qing Shui River for the final gathering of "The Dance of a Thousand Sisters". A dance all the sisters perform to the beating of the drums before they all disperse and return home - till next year that is.

It's late afternoon and with the echo of the drums beating off the mountain sides we leave for your next destination - towards LongLi. DAY SEVEN
