CongJiang
to XingHua
Via
Judong,
XiaJiang,
RongJiang, XingHua villages:
Today
the weather turns "sour" but at least we had a restful
night sleep in the newly built State Power Hotel one of the only
3 hotels in CongJiang Town, heading west we follow the "mighty"
Rong Jiang (river) passing village after village on the opposite
side.
With
no bridge or crossing possible we stop by the banks and chat to
a friendly boatman who offer to take us to his village - JuDong
See
panorama - here he tells us all the villages
along the river are Dong villages till XiaJiang village and
today just happens to be market day there. With market
day not too be missed we hurriedly cross the river again and rush
to XaiJiang.
After
the market, we all got a little "peekish"
and the best place to eat, Mr Yang told us, is at RongJiang Town,
well known throughout the region for all its fine variety of "dishes".
Arriving late afternoon we settle for sucking baby pig steampot
(hot pot) its must famous dish.
Refreshed
and nourished we continue our grueling
bouncy journey to XingHua village arriving after 8 PM passing
rock slide after rock slides too many to count. Luckily not to many
people (tourists) pass this way so there are beds aplenty but "roughing
it" is the order of the night as we choose the "best"
of the 3 guest houses available. DAY FOUR
